Safran Unveils Upgraded VersaSync™ GNSS Master Clock at DSEI 2025

DSEI London, UK – September 10, 2025 – Safran Electronics & Defense announces the release of an enhanced version of VersaSync™, its field-proven, ruggedized GNSS master clock and network time server, delivering even greater reliability and resilience for defense operations across all domains.

The new generation of VersaSync™ is designed to give customers a decisive operational advantage in increasingly complex mission environments. The latest upgrade of the VersaSync™ platform introduces major technical evolutions over the existing version, including improved frequency stability in harsh environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration. It also offers enhanced holdover performance in GNSS-denied missions, as well as a greater resistance to power supply transients – ensuring reliable timing continuity during platform power disruptions.

“Together, these improvements represent a significant technological breakthrough in resilient timing for defense platforms”, says Emmanuel Sicsik-Pare, Principal Product Manager at Safran Electronics & Defense. “ By converging Safran’s Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technologies into a more integrated and robust solution, the upgraded VersaSync™ brings together Safran’s advanced PNT technologies in a compact, rugged system that is easy to integrate and proven in the field”.

For customers, VersaSync™ remains form-fit-function compatible with earlier versions – making upgrades straightforward and cost-efficient, without major redesigns or delays.

Already trusted across a wide array of mission scenarios – from high-altitude Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and armored vehicles to naval combat systems and offshore platforms – VersaSync™ incorporates the market’s most advanced anti-jamming and anti-spoofing algorithms, already proven in more than 16,000 operational cases, further strengthening its unmatched resilience in contested environments. Its compact, conduction-cooled design fits easily into SWaP-constrained environments while providing secure NTP/PTP synchronization over Ethernet and a wide range of configurable I/Os.

From mobile C3I platforms and airborne ISR to Satellite On The Move (SOTM) and naval communications, the new VersaSync™ offers unmatched precision, security, and ruggedized timing where it matters most. Safran Electronics & Defense will showcase the enhanced VersaSync™ at DSEI 2025, where its teams will be available to present the solution and engage directly with customers about how the upgrades address their most pressing operational challenges.
