Skylight™: The World's First Dual-Mode GNSS Receiver for GPS M-Code & Galileo PRS
Paris Air Show – Le Bourget, June 2025 – Safran Electronics & Defense proudly announces the launch of Skylight™, a multi-mode military GNSS receiver designed to withstand electronic warfare threats. Unveiled at the Paris Air Show, Skylight™ is a compact, resilient, and high-integrity GNSS solution.
Skylight™ marks a major milestone as the world’s first GNSS receiver flight-tested with compatibility for Galileo PRS (Public Regulated Service). Its performance was validated during flight trials aboard a combat aircraft. This receiver delivers encrypted, spoofing-resistant PRS signals, significantly enhancing security for operations in contested environments.
The GNSS receiver is also M-Code compatible, ensuring interoperability with U.S. and allied military systems. It includes a certified civil GPS channel, enabling navigation in civil airspace when required. This eliminates the need for a separate civil GPS receiver, offering significant weight and cost savings for platform integrators.
Skylight™ incorporates the most advanced anti-jamming and anti-spoofing algorithms on the market, proven through over 16,000 operational cases.
Designed to operate with anti-jamming antennas and fully compatible with the SkyNaute™ inertial navigation system, Skylight™ integrates seamlessly into resilient Position Navigation and Timinig (PNT) architectures.
“We are proud to already count two leading aerospace manufacturers among the first adopters of Skylight™, including Airbus Helicopters, who has selected the H225M platform to be equipped with our receiver.”, said Alexandre Ziegler, Executive Vice President for the Defense Global Business Unit at Safran Electronics & Defense. “In an era where PNT resilience is critical, Skylight™ delivers agility, precision, and reliability with a standalone, multi-constellation GNSS receiver whose robustness is strengthened by our expertise in defensive Navwar.”
