Safran and MaiaSpace Strengthen European Sovereignty with Reusable Launch Innovation

Exclusive partnership merges navigation excellence and launcher reusability to secure more sustainable, independent access to space.

SpaceExpo, Bremen, Germany – November 19, 2025 – Safran Electronics & Defense, a global leader in advanced navigation technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with MaiaSpace, a pioneering company developing and operating Europe’s first reusable, eco-designed mini-launcher.

As part of the agreement, Safran will provide its SpaceNauteâ„¢ IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), integrated with STEMS (Space Transportation Electronic Modules), for MaiaSpace’s launch vehicles – available in both expendable and reusable configurations at the Guiana Space Center in Kourou.

SpaceNauteâ„¢ will ensure mission continuity, safety, and reliability – critical for the success of reusable launchers.

This exclusive partnership brings together Safran’s expertise in high-performance navigation and MaiaSpace’s innovative reusable launch technology.
