Safran Unveils ICONYX™ HP: A New Benchmark in Tactical Inertial Navigation

DSEI London, United Kingdom, September 9, 2025 – Safran Electronics & Defense is proud to announce the release of the latest ICONYX™ HP, a benchmark advanced tactical Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) that delivers unmatched performance, resilience, and integration flexibility for the most demanding guidance and control applications.

The ICONYX™ HP is engineered for guidance and control across a wide spectrum of defense and industrial sectors, including missiles and torpedoes, stabilization systems, autonomous vehicles, mining operations, and robotics. With its HRG Crystal™ gyroscopes and tactical-grade accelerometers, ICONYX™ HP provides the precision required in GNSS-contested or denied environments.

Offering best-in-class SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power), the ICONYX™ HP ensures easy integration into both large and compact platforms. Its compact form factor weight, and low-power design provide navigation-grade performance in a tactical-sized IMU, representing a breakthrough for modern operational requirements.

The ICONYX™ HP delivers outstanding performance with a gyroscope bias stability of 0.15°/h (1σ), angular random walk below 0.001°/√h, accelerometer dynamic range up to 100 g, and bandwidth greater than 200 Hz. Its ruggedized design withstands shocks up to 120 g, vibrations up to 15 gRMS, and operational temperatures ranging from – 40°C to +70°C, ensuring reliability in the harshest environments.
