BlackNaute: The Resilient PNT Revolution Against Threats to Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)

Paris International Air Show, 17th June 2025 – At a time marked by an unprecedented surge in jamming and spoofing threats targeting GNSS systems—up by 500% globally in 20241 —the launch of BlackNaute sets a new standard in autonomous positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT).

Thanks to the integration of a next-generation navigation system based on Safran’s patented HRG Dual Core technology delivering unmatched inertial performance alongside the Skylightā„¢ multi-mode GNSS receiver board (Galileo – PRS / GPS – M-Code / Civil GPS) and an atomic clock, BlackNaute is capable of ensuring exceptional navigation resilience even in the most demanding electronic warfare environments.

Its built-in atomic clock maintains precise timing essential for secure communications and collaborative combat operations.

BlackNaute also incorporates the market’s most advanced anti-jamming and anti-spoofing algorithms, already proven in more than 16,000 operational cases. It guarantees continuity of operations by detecting compromised signals and switching to autonomous and trusted sources for navigation and time.

Its modular design allows BlackNaute to adapt to a wide range of platforms. Leading manufacturers such as Airbus Helicopters have already selected the NH90 to be equipped with this new Embedded GNNS and Time INS (EGTI).

“BlackNaute embodies our commitment to resilient navigation in the most contested airspaces,” said Alexandre Ziegler, Executive Vice President, Defense Global Business Unit at Safran Electronics & Defense.

“What we are offering today is not just a new solution—it’s an operational guarantee, designed to meet the challenges of electromagnetic warfare. It is a concentration of innovation combining precision, versatility, and security to ensure positioning, navigation, and timing—anywhere, under any circumstances.”
