Alamo Area Search & Rescue

Volunteer Canine Search & Rescue Team

What they do

Alamo Area Search and Rescue (AASAR) is an all volunteer search and rescue team based in the San Antonio, Texas area. Their volunteers provide search and rescue resources to public safety agencies in Texas free of charge. Their team currently consists of Wilderness Search Specialists and Search and Rescue Canines.

Why it’s critical

The sooner searches for missing persons are started the better the chance for survival.  Alamo Area Search and Rescue responds to calls from law enforcement agencies to provide search support on land and water

How we support

In October 2021, we shared our booth at APCO, the largest public safety tradeshow of the year. During the show, we offered a donation match challenge to show participants and worked with the show’s organizers to hold a search and rescue dog training demonstration.

How you can support

Donations are the most direct way you can help fund equipment and training for the dogs and their search teams.
