Safran Electronics & Defense Adds Xona PULSAR™ to GNSS Simulation Capability
Skydel GNSS Simulation Software enhances its LEO PNT Capabilities with Groundbreaking PULSAR Signals.
September 19th, 2024
Montreal, Canada – Safran Electronics & Defense, a leading provider of GNSS simulation software, proudly announces the availability of Xona Space System’s PULSAR™ XL signal on Skydel, offering groundbreaking advancements in navigation and timing capabilities. With a focus on enhancing support for resilient and precise Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) enabled by low Earth orbiting (LEO) satellites, applications Skydel continues to set the standard for precision and reliability in GNSS simulation.
The Skydel GNSS simulation engine is enhanced through several key features, including enhanced LEO PNT capabilities that allow users to accurately simulate satellite constellations in low Earth orbits – specifically Xona’s PULSAR signals. This functionality enables developers and engineers to test and validate their systems for applications such as autonomous vehicles, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), and space missions with unprecedented accuracy and realism.
Additionally, Skydel now fully supports the Galileo E1 OSNMA signal, providing users with access to the latest advancements in Galileo navigation technology. This new signal enhances the security and integrity of GNSS signals, ensuring robust and reliable positioning and timing solutions for critical applications.
“We are thrilled to introduce the latest version of Skydel’s GNSS simulation software, which represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to push the boundaries of GNSS navigation and timing simulation,” said Guillaume Obry, Skydel’s Product Manager. “With enhanced support for LEO constellations like Xona PULSAR, Skydel is spearheading advancements in GNSS technology, empowering our customers to develop and deploy cutting-edge navigation solutions with confidence.”
“Skydel’s implementation of PULSAR signals is a major milestone for the GNSS community,” adds Bryan Chan, co-founder and VP of Strategy at Xona. “This new capability empowers receiver manufacturers to showcase Xona PULSAR’s unique LEO PNT value propositions to the end consumer, in applications ranging from heavy industry to the mass market.”
Skydel will be showcased at the ION GNSS+ 2024 conference in Baltimore (Booth B), where attendees can experience live demonstrations and interact with our team of experts.
