Spectracom PresenTense Network Time Management Software PresenTense Time client s-ntp-ptc-10 (Site license version) Installation Instructions and summary of operation: The folder on this CD contains a file called ptsetupsite.exe. Open the folder and double-click on this file and then press "Run" to install the selected program on the PC. The Setup Wizard will walk you through the installation process. Once the PresenTense client program has been installed, you can open this program by selecting "PresenTense" from the Start/Programs menu. After opening the program, you will need to configure the desired primary and backup reference "Time Servers" to synchronize to,how often the PC will synchronize, Syslog server to send logs to (if desired),and the SMTP Server address to send alert messages to (if desired). Note: The primary and backup (if desired and available) time source can be either a Spectracom NTP Time Server or any PC on the network that is running the PresenTense Time Server program. 1) To configure the primary and/or back time reference, click on the Settings tab and choose "Internet Time Server" as the reference time source. Then click on the "Internet Time Server" tab and enter the IP address of the desired time source. 2) To configure the synchronization interval, in the "Internet Time Server" tab, select the desired interval in the "Synchronize Every" box. 3) To configure the program to automatically send the logs to a Syslog Server on the network, click on the "Settings" tab and enter the IP address of the Syslog Server in the Alarm Notification box. 4) To configure the program to automatically send alert messagesto an email address on the network, click on the "Settings" tab and enter the IP address of the SMTP Server in the Alarm Notification box.
