The University of Helsinki, Sintef and the Nordic Institute of Navigation are organizing a seminar on Protecting Global navigation satellite system (GNSS): A general term describing any satellite constellation that provides positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services on a global or regional basis. See also against intentional interference. The seminar will be held as a physical event on the University of Helsinki’s city center campus, if the situation allows. Representatives from the scientific community, companies and the authorities will be invited to speak and participate in the event. The importance of protecting the GNSS infrastructure, the means of detecting intentional interference and the protection mechanisms against interference will be discussed.
Robert (Rob) Burke is the Senior Director of Business Development for French based company Orolia. He has been in the communications and technology industry for over 35 years in various roles with an emphasis in test, measurement & simulation. Rob has spent the last 12 years specifically focused on the analysis of Global Positioning System is a navigation satellite system. His formal education is in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, as well as Satellite & Telecommunications through the US DoD. He currently resides in Charlotte, NC USA, and travels extensively to work on projects & programs around the globe.
