In 2019, the first test flight of an air taxi in the heart of Singapore caused a stir in the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) industry. Now, both Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Vertical Take-off and Landing (VTOL) vehicles are on the brink of becoming a regular part of our cityscapes: offering air taxis, airborne deliveries, and emergency management services.
However, one of the main challenges facing the UAM industry is its heavy reliance on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals for accurate and secure Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) data. Alongside the need for new regulations to define the UAM market’s framework, this dependency on GNSS signals poses a significant hurdle.
This upcoming webinar will provide an overview of the UAM industry’s key initiatives and challenges, including the establishment of new regulatory frameworks and the growing threats to GNSS signals. The panelists, who include UAM industry leaders, aerospace regulatory representatives, and PNT experts, will also examine global perspectives on existing and next-gen solutions to support this rapidly advancing industry.
